FreeRice

FreeRice is a wonderful way to increase your knowledge while having fun and extending a helping hand. FreeRice has two goals:
--Provide education to everyone for free. Bulleted List
--Help end world hunger by providing rice to hungry people for free.

Perhaps even greater than the educational experience of this site is the investment your donated rice makes to fellow human beings, enabling them to function and be productive. Somewhere in the world, a person is eating rice that you helped provide.

FreeRice is a non-profit website run by the United Nations World Food Program. A partner is the Berkman Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University.

GeoGebra

GeoGebra is a dynamic mathematics software for schools that joins geometry, algebra and calculus. And, its free! GeoGebra is an interactive geometry system. You can do constructions with points, vectors, segments, lines, conic sections as well as functions and change them dynamically afterwards. Equations and coordinates can be entered directly. Thus, GeoGebra has the ability to deal with variables for numbers, vectors and points, finds derivatives and integrals of functions.
Sound far out; we think it worth taking a look.

AAA Math

Aside from the advertising, which is really pretty light, I really like this site. AAA Math features a comprehensive set of interactive arithmetic lessons. Unlimited practice is available on each topic which allows thorough mastery of the concepts. A wide range of lessons enables learning or review to occur at each individual's current level. Immediate feedback (simply the right answer)prevents practicing and learning incorrect methods, which is a common result of traditional homework and worksheets. Practice can continue as long as desired in a non-threatening format which helps build self-esteem and confidence. This is a really good tool for building a solid math foundation.

ClassBrain.com

ClassBrain.com demostrates education can be interesting and fun for all ages. The PreK and Kindergarten section is designed for students who are new to the computer. The main sections are Play Time, How To, and School Time. The 1st to 3rd Grade Section is for more beginning elementary students; the main sections are also Play Time, How To, and School Time. The Teens Section is one of the largest sections on ClassBrain. The name is a bit misleading, because the materials address subjects all the way through college level and graduate courses. The site also has areas for teachers and families. The site features several informational areas such as Biographies, State Reports, Defining Documents and more. These can be very helpful to students working on special projects. ClassBrain brings you the best of the web in education.
